1. Buying a domain

When starting a business and getting ready to launch it, the first thing a person does is decide on a name. A unique name distinguishes your company from others.

Though Fynd Platform offers its users a free domain that comes with a suffix 'fynd.io' for example, zapstyles.fynd.io. However, some users may wish to use their domain name instead of our free domain. There are many domain name providers like Hostinger, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Bluehost, etc. that offer domain names of your choice. 

Buy a domain name from any service provider, or if you've already purchased a domain, then follow these steps to connect your domain name to the online store:

1. Visit Fynd Platform > Sales Channel > Settings > Domain and go on custom domain options.

2. If you have already bought a domain, then search for it in the search bar. It should show 'Not available'.

3. Visit the hosting service provider from where you have bought the domain and go to its DNS settings.

4. 'A' records and TXT values may be found on the right side of the Fynd Platform panel. After removing the previous values, copy these values and paste them into the DNS settings.

5. Visit https://dnschecker.org and check if both the 'A' records and TXT values paste dare visible in every region.

6. Once confirmed on DNS checker, go to Fynd Platform and click 'Link and Save'. 

7. You may verify the status of the link by searching it online.

In addition to your primary domain, Fynd Platform allows you to add multiple domains that can be redirected to the platform. To access the redirection option visit Fynd Platform > Sales Channel > Settings > Redirections. Domain redirection helps users accessing old domains to be instantly redirected to your newly added domain.  Example; zapstyles.fynd.io - zapstyles.com

2. Change the appearance of your website

Now that your domain is set up, it's time to change the appearance of your website. Coding and UI/UX design knowledge are essential to design websites, but Fynd Platform offers readily available themes that can be applied easily.

Visit Fynd Platform > Sales channel > Appearance > Themes to explore various themes that suit your business. 

• On the 'Themes Section', go to Explore Themes and choose from the readily available themes.

• After adding the selected theme to the themes library, go back and select the theme from the 'themes library'. Click 'Apply'.

Once the theme is selected and uploaded successfully, we can add a navigation bar.

• A navigation option is used to add a header and footer to the website.

• It is used for customising the navigation bar's links. These custom navigation that link to other pages or areas of your website can be added, edited, and enabled.

• You may also clearly align their position on the Web, Android, and iOS platforms.

• Fynd Platform offers options through which navigational buttons can be enabled, disabled, or have restricted access.

3. Explore other features that can be used to enhance your website’s appearance

1.     Screensaver - This option creates responsive sliders that show multiple products or images as a carousel.

2.     Landing page - This is the first page that is visible when a user visits your website. This can be made as creative as possible by showcasing your products, brand motive, and more.

3.     Page configuration - Go to Fynd Platform > Sales channel > Settings > Brands. Here you can update or edit the brand logo, name, and banner. 

4.     General settings - Add name, address, logo, and social media handles that will be shown on the website.
