Introduction
In this guide, we outline a clear step-by-step process for setting up international shipping on Fynd Platform. Think of it as preparing your store to welcome customers from around the world. This guide will help you navigate the complexities of cross-border ecommerce with ease.
Delivery Zones
To facilitate international shipping, you are required to establish designated delivery zones at the company level for product delivery. Refer here to understand the process of creating a delivery zone. Specific to international shipping, these zones include global destinations beyond domestic borders. Add all the countries you want to sell to.
Currency
In the case of international orders, it's essential to align the currency with the designated country. Select all the currencies you want to sell in. On the website, the currency automatically updates based on the country selected in the dropdown menu. If the currency corresponding to a country is not listed in your currency options, the default currency set will be automatically selected for that country.
International Shipping Setup
Once you have set up Zones and Currencies for your sales channel, enable international shipping for the respective sales channel.
Delivery Charges
To manage high global shipping costs, set separate delivery charges for international shipping in the cart settings after enabling international shipping.
Customize charges based on different order values by setting thresholds. Ensure that the thresholds and delivery charges are configured in your company's base currency (for example, INR for sellers from India). Fynd will convert these charges based on the customer's chosen currency at checkout.
A threshold is the order value at which different delivery charges apply. For international shipping, you can set thresholds to adjust shipping fees based on the order amount, ensuring appropriate charges for larger or smaller orders.
Payments
With Fynd Platform, facilitating international exports from India is seamless with Razorpay. Set up your Razorpay merchant account on Fynd Platform to start accepting international payments via cards and wallets such as Paypal.
The supported modes of payment are:
- Card
- Wallet → Paypal
Delivery Setup
Self Ship
If you prefer to manage your shipping manually, enable the self-ship option. You can find more details by visiting the Delivery Setup section. When enabled, self-delivery applies to all the sales channels, excluding marketplaces. This ensures that you will not miss order delivery due to any temporary unavailability of delivery services.
DHL Express Delivery Extension
For international delivery and logistics operations, you can connect to DHL Express on Fynd Platform. Refer here for guidance on setting up the delivery partner.
Installing the delivery partner extension alone is not enough; enabling the services is essential to ensure that the respective delivery partner is reflected on the delivery configuration page.
DHL will provide the Shipper ID and Site ID. You should have the IEC Code and AD.
DHL ensures compliance by generating export invoices (a mandatory requirement) and labels for every export order, streamlining the international shipping process. The same can be downloaded from the Orders section.
Login and Registration for International customers
The Authentication page lets you customize the login component display. To manage international shipping costs, you can opt to allow customers to log in without requiring a phone number, reducing expenses associated with OTP SMS messages to international numbers.
Website/Storefront
Currency
When a country is selected from the dropdown in the header, the product prices are automatically adjusted to the corresponding currency of the country. This ensures that customers are less likely to abandon their shopping carts due to currency conversion issues.
Address
We provide dynamically generated address forms tailored to each country. For example, customers from the UAE see an address form designed for UAE addresses, while those from the USA encounter a form for American addresses. This ensures the address capture process is personalized and user-friendly for every customer.
Customers have the option to input subsequent details such as pincode, city, and area as per their country’s address format in order to obtain the promised delivery date.
International Shipping Orders
- All international orders are visible on the Fynd Platform under the My Orders page in the your base currency. i.e. for sellers from India, orders will be displayed in INR; for sellers from UAE, the orders will be displayed in AED, irrespective of the checkout currency of the customer.
- All customer invoices are generated in the checkout currency chosen by the customer. For example, if the customer checked out in AED, the customer invoice will be generated in AED
- To filter international orders in My Orders, navigate to the filters and select the International tag.
- International orders are non-returnable; Fynd does not support returns for international orders.
E-Invoice Generation for International Orders from India
For Indian sellers, generating an e-invoice for all international (cross-border) orders is mandatory if the GST-registered business exceeds an annual turnover of 5 crores. Fynd automatically generates e-invoices for all international orders provided you have enabled the e-invoice with Fynd Platform for a location. Learn more on How To Enable E-Invoice With Fynd Platform
