Using Product Stock Customer Alerts Extension

Introduction

The Product Stock Customer Alerts extension can help you get started quickly and ensure you don't lose potential customers. One click is all it takes for your customers to make a purchase. Whenever a certain product is less in stock, a custom text will appear near the add to cart button, telling customers to buy now! Your customers can subscribe to your out-of-stock product's waiting list and receive notifications when it comes back into stock.

Before using this extension, please make sure 'Out of stock' option (present in Sales Channel >> Settings >> Inventory) is selected. Please ignore this caution if already done.


How To Use Product Stock Customer Alerts Extension


Steps to use Product Stock Customer Alerts Extension

  1. Go to Extensions in Fynd Platform.

  2. Click Product Stock Customer Alerts extension.

    Once you have installed this extension, it will be available in the list here.

  3. Select desired sales channel. Here, we have selected 'Shoplune'.

Limited Stock

Click Limited Stock widget.

Email Template

  • Available Layouts - Choose either 'Horizontal' or 'Vertical' layout. Horizontal layout will arrange elements one beside the other, whereas vertical layout arranges elements one below the other.
  • Subject - Enter a text that you'll always keep common in the subject line of every email. For e.g., Limited Stock Alert.
  • Title - Provide suitable heading for email that you wish to send to customers.
  • Message - Enter content of the email that can convert customers to purchase a product.
  • Button Text - Enter suitable text to customise the button label. For e.g., Buy Now.
  • Button Colour - Select suitable colour to fill background of the button.
  • Send Test Email - Click this button to verify the appearance and delivery of email.
  • Save - Upon clicking this button, your configuration will be saved.

Storefront Appearance

  • Text - Enter the text that will appear to customers on product description page (PDP) when the quantity of a certain product is available in few units.
  • Save - Upon clicking this button, your configuration will be saved.

Back In Stock

Click Back In Stock widget.

  • Text - Enter suitable heading for your subscription form that will appear to customers on product description page (PDP) when a certain product is out of stock.
  • Placeholder - Provide a short hint that describes the expected value of input from the customer. For e.g., Enter your email.
  • Button Text - Enter suitable text to customise the subscription button label. For e.g., Notify Me.
  • Button Colour - Select suitable colour to fill background of the button.
  • Message Text - Enter suitable text message that must be displayed to customer once he subscribed to back in stock alerts on your website
  • Save - Upon clicking this button, your configuration will be saved.

Settings

Click Settings widget.

  • Sender Email ID - It is the email ID from which your customers will receive emails for limited or back in stock products. You cannot edit this field.
  • Send Test Email To - Enter email ID to verify the appearance and delivery of email alerts.
  • Limited Stock Settings
    • Toggle Button - Show or hide the limited stock text that indicates the product is available in few quantities.
    • Quantity Threshold - Enter a lower limit where users will get an email for limited stock products. Automatic mail will be triggered when the quantity of the products reaches the threshold set here.
    • On which page(s) do you want this feature to appear? - Select page(s) on which you want limited stock text to show.
  • Back In Stock Settings
    • Toggle Button - Show or hide the back in stock text that indicates the product is restocked.
    • On which page(s) do you want this feature to appear? - Select page(s) on which you want back in stock text to show.
  • Save - Upon clicking this button, your configuration will be saved.
Note 1

Product description page (PDP) is the default page on which this feature would appear. You cannot edit this field.

Note 2

In the case of limited stock alerts, suppose a customer has 3 products in their cart or wishlist. At a specific time during the day, a single mail alert will be sent if inventory for these products has reached the 'Quantity Threshold'.

Note 3

In the case of a back-in-stock alerts, suppose the customer has subscribed to 4 products. For example, if 2 products are restocked, then a single back-in-stock mail alert will be sent at a specific time during the day.


Activating/Deactivating Product Stock Customer Alerts

Turn ON the toggle button to activate product stock customer alerts for sales channel.

Add Product Stock Customer Alerts Extension in Theme

  1. Click Themes in Appearance section of sales channel on Fynd Platform.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Select 'Product Description' option from SYSTEM PAGES dropdown.

  4. Choose a random product from the dropdown list (Refer Figure 11).

  5. Click Ok.

  6. Go to Page tab (Refer Figure 12).

  7. Click + sign of desired position in Extension Positions section. Here, we have selected Below Size Component position.

  8. Click Add Extension dropdown.

  9. Select Product Stock Customer Alerts extension from dropdown list.

  10. Click Save.

  11. Close the theme window.

    In this way, Product Stock Customer Alerts extension is added in your website's theme.

It might take up to 10 minutes to view Product Stock Customer Alert feature. Since these configurations aren't used regularly, the caching duration is active and new changes might take some time to reflect on your website.


Final Output

Now, visit the sales channel and you will see that product stock customer alert visible on PDP.
