Using Google Analytics Extension

From July 1, 2023 Universal Analytics (UA) will be deprecated. This Google Analytics extension focuses on the latest version, i.e., GA4.

Introduction

Google Analytics is one of the most popular tools for tracking website traffic and collecting visitor insights. This extension uses GA4 which is a recently launched upgraded version of Google Analytics. The tool assists you with identifying the top sources of user traffic, evaluating your marketing campaigns and activities, tracking goals (like purchases or adding products to carts), finding patterns and trends in user engagement, as well as finding demographic information about your visitors.


Steps to use Google Analytics Extension

  1. Go to Google Analytics.

  2. Sign in with your Google account.

  3. Click Start Measuring.

  4. Enter an account name. Use a descriptive name, so you can easily tell what this account is used for when you see it in the list of accounts.

  5. Enter a property name. It's recommended to use the name of your website or app, so you can easily identify what this property is used for.

  6. Fill in all other business details and click Create.

  7. Read and accept the terms of service.

  8. Now that you have successfully created your Google Analytics account, you can set up a data stream (a source of data, e.g., your existing website or mobile app).

  9. Enter the URL of your website, a stream name, and click Create stream.

  10. Note down the Measurement ID of your webstream.

  11. Go to Extensions in Fynd Platform.

  12. Click Google Analytics extension.

    note

    Once you have installed this extension, it will be available in the list here.

  13. Select desired sales channel. Here, we have selected 'Anuj-Test'.

  14. Enter the measurement ID (which you have noted down in step 10) here.

  15. Turn ON the toggle button to activate Google Analytics for sales channel.

  16. Click Save.

In this way, the Google Analytics (GA4) is configured with your website successfully.
