Buy X Items and Get Y Items free
How this promotion works
Here
Offer Quantity (OQ) is the quantity of product required
Example
Buy 2 items, get 2 items free.
Let’s say Item 1 costs ₹ 2000,
Item 2 costs ₹ 1500 and
Item 3 costs ₹ 3000 and
Item 4 costs ₹ 1000
Formula
Coupon Discount = Ymin(OQ+Y)
Where
CV = Cart value of X+Y items
OQ = mandatory number of items
Y = OQ
Ymin(OQ+Y) = Sum(Y Minimum price in OQ+Y items)
In this example
CV = (2000+1500+3000+1000) = 7500
OQ = 2
Y = 2
Therefore
Ymin(OQ+Y) = Sum(2 Minimum price in 4 items)
= Sum(1500, 1000)
= 2500

Let's consider the following example
- Let's create a new promotion. Select the 'Buy X Items and get Y Items Free' from the list.
- Enter the basic details.
- Select the priority (1 being the lowest) and schedule. Higher the number, higher the priority.
- Set the restrictions whether you want the promotion to be stackable, final. For e.g. if you set it to stackable then this promotion can be applied to the product with other promotions. If you select final then no other promotions can be added after this.
- Add the rules that will be applied to the promotion. In this example when 3 or more items are added to the cart, the item having the lowest price will be available for free.
- Set the conditions, here we set the offer quantity as 1 (item with lowest price will be available for free as per rule 1). After setting all the conditions, click Create.
- Your promotion is created, you can navigate to the PDP page and add items to the cart to view the promotions applied.
Here the promotional amount of ₹ 1249 is applied as it is the lowest value item in the cart.
